Cast brass component. This casting will arrive with a bright, pure brass finish as shown.
TechSpecs:
Brass ring cores can be safely fired with
our silver, bronze and copper clays, when fired in carbon media. We tested co-firing PMC 3 with our Brass Ring Cores by firing in coal carbon at 1625ºF at full ramp for 2 hours. We did not prep the brass core in any way to see what would happen. The silver clay sintered completely to the brass ring core. The brass core combined with the silver gave the ring a unique look. We also tested to make sure the ring size did not change after firing. The size stayed true. We recommend co-firing silver clays with our brass and copper ring cores as an economical and easy way to make a cool ring. Also note, the melting temperature of brass is 1700ºF and the optimum temperature of firing PMC 3 is 1650ºF, so firing at or below 1650ºF is recommended.
