The Paragon SC (Silver Clay) series kilns by Paragon are wonderful small jewelry kilns designed especially for the studio jeweler. The SC3 kiln is the perfect choice for studio jewelers, metal clay artists, firing services, and classrooms working in any type of metal clay and traditional jewelry making techniques:

The SC3 is digitally controlled, so you can set it and forget it. Use one of 4 customizable heat, hold and stop programs, or build firings up to 8 segments long saved to 4 customizable programs.

The firing box measures 8" wide, 8" deep, and 7-3/4" high. A maximum of 3 kiln shelves can be fired at once. Any of the stainless steel and ceramic firing vessels we carry for carbon firing will fit this kiln.

The SC3 plugs into a standard 110V household outlet (3-prong) and draws less energy than most hair dryers.

Door Options
Order your kiln with the best door for the techniques and materials you'll be working with. The SC3 base model features a plain door, however options are available. 
  • The Bead Door option allows beadmakers to insert hot glass mandrels into the kiln for annealing while preserving the interior temperature. Includes mandrel rest. 
  • The Viewport option allows you to monitor the progress of things like enamels and glass. The 1"x2" ceramic window is rated to 2000F, so there is no limitation in temperature or performance with the Viewport.
  • The  combination Bead Door and Viewport option includes both the Bead Door and the viewing window in one door.
Color Options
New color options are available on all SC kiln models! Choose from blue, pink, turquoise, purple, and black. 

Kiln Furniture Option
The props used to hold items during firing are called kiln furniture. Kiln shelves and kiln posts are the basic kiln furniture that every kiln owner should have. This kit includes 2 different shelves to cover all the items you are likely to fire as a metal clay artist. Purchased individually, the furniture costs $41.00, but if you order it now with your kiln, it's only $30. That's an $11 savings. The Furniture Kit includes: 
  • 7" x 7" hard ceramic kiln shelf used when firing glass, ceramics, metal clay, and enamels
  • 6" x 6" Cordierite kiln shelf for firing metal clay
  • Set of 4 1/2" high kiln posts. Used to elevate a kiln shelf or firing vessel for even heating and to separate kiln shelves during firing.
Power Consumption
The SC3 plugs into a 3-prong household outlet and draws 1800 watts. Hourly cost to operate on average: 17 cents.

Kiln Location
Place the SC3 on a counter top or table without worry; the surface will not heat during firing thanks to the elevated firing box. Double-walled construction keeps the outside case cool, even at extended firing times.

Maintenance
Your kiln will give you years of trouble-free service as long as you are good to it. Keep the inside clean, don't gouge the fiber walls, don't fire directly on the floor, etc. The Paragon SC3 kiln has a ceramic fiber interior with the heating elements embedded and protected within the shell. The heating elements have a lifespan that is use-dependent, and for most people, will last for years. When it is time to replace the heating elements, the ceramic fiber shell, called a muffle, is replaced.

Warranty
The kiln is warrantied to be free of defects in workmanship for a period of 1 year from date of shipment. Manufacturer will repair or replace any parts that become defective under normal and proper use during the specified period.

Delivery
Standard door and colors normally ship 1 week from order, but can take up to 2 weeks during promotions and holidays. Please allow at least 2 weeks time for your customized kiln to be built and shipped. When your kiln arrives, call us at 888-478-5060 for setup assistance if you need it. International Voltages
