Really difficult to assemble

"I'm usually good with directions, but assembling this thing was quite a stumper! Definitely watch the video, and I'd recommend a practice run with aluminum foil first. My end product certainly is not air tight (my lid is somehow a full inch longer than the base?), but I suppose that doesn't really matter as long as I get the carbon in there."

very good carbon

"this coconut carbon works great for my copper metal clay projects and the fact that i can clear off the ash and reuse d the carbon is awesome"

"i have used this product previously and i find it is fab. x"

My oven is clean

"I have used the same box twice for Sterling Silver, once for Bronze, and the forth time I used it with copper for first time. The box was almost disintegrated after that. I think that 1750F was to much for it, do not if this is expected. But overall this box is great. Very clean, and my pieces turn out perfect."

Box completely failed after 3 uses

"This product is a hassle to assemble. It was worth it at the time when I believed I was getting a product that wouldn't flake all over my kiln. The box flaked I into the kiln my very first test firing. The second firing was even more flaking and mess. After the third firing, the box has completely broken down and is crumbling I was planning on spending the week creating and firing. Major set"

It worked perfect

"Product is great, but in my next firings I will use a cage to protect my pieces. Small pieces of carbon got inside the small grooves and produced nicks and indentations in my silver when it shrink."

Firing Kit makes copper firing easy

"This is a great kit, after watching the video on line it was easy to put together. I have been firing my copper and it comes out great, is easy to clean and there is no mess in the kiln to clean up!!! For someone like me who is a beginner it was simple to use, and real fun hunting for the pieces in the carbon when the firing was done. I would recomment this kit!"

Great firing tool for new clays!

"Perfect way to get students started using the copper, bronze and steel clays, without a huge investment. Also much less finish work for student pieces within limited class times. Very smart, functional and affordable!"

decent stuff

"This stuff works just as explained. The youtube video on how to fold it works really well. I like this stuff because it doesn't make a mess in the kiln, but the pan is sort of small. If you follow the video, you'll make the mid-size pan. The folding operation is the same no matter what size you make. My only beef is that it is pretty small, and the roll you get is just enough to make a large"

Metalclay M. (3/5)

Does not last long

"The folding instructions were very easy to follow. It is a good size for a small kiln. You have a choice of the size box to make. When firing copper clay in my small kiln it had holes in it after four firings."
