Design and Etch on Faux Bone using the Silhouette Curio™

Artist, Instructor and Silhouette Curio expert, Cindy Pope started out with Precious Metal Clay Rio certification and metalsmithing classes and is one of Hadar Jacobson’s first Cadre of Base Metal Accredited teachers. When Saul Bell Award winner Wanaree Tanner came out with the concept of cutting and etching metal clay with a machine designed for paper called the Silhouette, Cindy jumped on board with the new technology and has become one of the most recognized teachers in the field internationally.

In this video, Cindy gives step by step instruction on how to etch a Faux Bone™ bracelet with the Silhouette Curio. Once the piece is etched, she adds color with Shiva Paintstiks, making the etching really pop. She sands down the edges to a curve, and then heats the bracelet over a drying form, creating the perfect shape.
