The stones used in Egyptian jewelry came from a deposit on a small volcanic island in the Red Sea, which was not rediscovered until about 1900. It has now been exhausted for quite some time, and is now mined in many areas around the world.

Natural Peridot Gemstone

The peridot dates back to the early 2nd millennium B.C. in Egypt.

Open Fire or Carbon Fire at 1470°F / 30 min. Hardness: Peridot has a rating of approximately 7 on Mohs hardness scale.
