Book: Jewelry Making and Design by Augustus F. Rose
This is a reprint of the book originally titled Jewelry and Jewelry Making, first published in 1918, and updated and revised in 1946 and 1949. This text has been popular with those learning to craft jewelry for almost 90 years. The ancient, highly skilled craft of manipulating gold, silver, precious and semi-precious stones into jewelry is presented here in a practical text. The authors take readers through a graded series of problems, progressing from simple to complex pieces. Both authors were formerly of the Rhode Island School of design, and this book contains some of the projects you would have been given as a student there. The lessons teach you to see objects and plants in new ways and turn those designs into beautiful jewelry. This is an excellent book for those who want to fine tune their sense of design.
