Cernit Number One Polymer Clay - Carmine 2oz (56g) block
Cernit Number One Polymer Clay is the original opaque line of clay. It can be moulded, sculpted, used with or without tools, textured, printed or mixed with stones, pearls, feathers, mica powders, paints, and more. After baking, the clay is waterproof and it can be baked several times if you wish to add bits to your work.
After baking, the clay can still be worked with. It can be sanded, drilled, painted, polished or varnished. Baked Cernit also keeps some flexibility and does not break easily. This is a huge asset for creating flowers, bracelets with no clasp or other fine jewelry that needs to keep a certain flexibility.
Cernit does not stain hands or tools and is odorless, even during baking.
Polymer clay is also a wonderful way to explore designs without risking your precious metal clay. Work out your designs in this clay before executing in metal clay. Bake and use as a mold. Use polymer clay to add brilliant color to your jewelry designs.
Start with clean hands and work surface. Recommended work surfaces include Cool Tools Clayboard, glass surfaces, disposable foil, or wax paper. For best results, work light colors before dark colors to avoid staining clay. Condition clay by kneading until soft and smooth. When connecting two pieces of clay together, press firmly to ensure they stick together after baking. See baking times below. Do not use microwave oven. Do not exceed the recommended baking temperature or baking time.
Pre-heat electric oven at 265°F/130°C. Bake for 30 minutes maximum.
