A single segment ramp/hold program is a lot simpler than it sounds; it simply heats to a target temperature, holds that temperature for the specified amount of time and then shuts itself off. The SC1 plugs into a 3-prong household outlet and draws only 600 watts, which equates to about 2 cents per hour to operate. Place the SC1 on a counter top or table without worry; the surface the kiln sits on will not heat during firing thanks to the elevated firing box.
