Using Dimple Pliers

Dimple pliers are used to make dimples of various sizes in metal, metal clay and other materials. Dimple pliers take the place of a punch and hammer to make a mark on metal very quickly and quietly. Dimple pliers can be used to form decorative dimple that resemble rivets and balls on heavy gauge materials.

When drilling metal, a dimple is made where a hole is desired. The dimple guides the drill so it does not skate away. Usually, a dimple (or divot) is made by hammering a punch into the metal against a steel anvil. For small pieces of metal, Dimple-making pliers are elegant and fast. The pliers are available in 1mm, 3mm, 5mm and 7mm for a wide variety of sizes. The pliers can even be used to form small pieces of metal.
