Before this tool was invented, we used flat nosed pliers to crush crimp beads. The result was not attractive because the crimp bead was simply flattened and looked that way. With crimping pliers the crimp bead is folded neatly and holds much better. For finishing strung necklaces, this simple tool is irreplaceable.
