Copper Cloisonné Bezel Wire - Flat
Ideal for creating bezels, for creating cloisonnes (compartments) for enamel work and for making bails, flat jump rings and handmade chain, sterling strip is also perfect for stamping. Cloisonné is very a very fine wire strip that forms the borders between the different enamel colors. These delicate strips of wire are soldered to a metal back in the shape of a design, and the resulting cellular spaces are filled with enamels. Use different colors to create beautiful designs.
The earliest known examples of the Cloisonné technique are from the 13th-century. The technique reached its peak in the West during the Byzantine Empire. Chinese Cloisonné was widely produced during the Ming and Qing dynasties.
